First Blog and reason behind it

Yes this is my first blog for Wreck Your Head Media's Confessional. Well Wreck Your Head Media is a primarily Fetish oriented video company...Our interests expand beyond just that.

So enough jibber jabber....let's get to the point.

First off this blog is outside the realm of anything fetish. As a media company, and a self published author I find myself often wanting to comment, and review films. So that is what I am doing. Hollywood is my passion, and films are where my heart lies. Therefore when a good movie comes along I find myself wanting to express my opinions of it to the world. So here I am.

The movie in question tonight happens to be "Terminator Salvation". While its release date is a little less then a week away I have to say I'm stoked about this movie. Terminator Salvation is the fourth installment of James Cameron's hit franchise "Terminator" which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and the incomparable Michael Biehn. Terminator Salvation is the first of a planned trilogy directed by McG. To be 100% honest with you all, I am not familiar with his works. However judging what I have seen from the trailers, and cast commentaries this will be a hit!

I have been a "Terminator" fan since I was a kid. After "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" I will admit to being extremely bummed that now the story was over. That was until I found about the production of "Terminator Salvation" which now stars Christian Bale as John Connor, Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Brewster Connor, and Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese.

From what I am hearing about the story it seems as if it is taking elements from "Terminator Sarah Conor Chronicles" which air Fridays on Fox. If that is the case this movie is bound to be a huge bonus for die hard "Terminator" fans. "Sarah Conor Chronicles" deals with Skynet using humans to learn to be more human like. Now I don't know if this was done intentionally (although I'm pretty sure it had to have been). I like this idea.

I myself have always envisioned the endless possibilities of what-if's that could take place in the Terminator series. The cast of the new movie I think will prove flawless. Christian Bale is a phenominal actor with huge blockbusters under his belt, mainly the re-launch of the Batman franchise. If anyone could pull of a complex role of tormented human resistance leader John Conor, Bale is the man. Nick Stahl's performance as Conor left me wanting desperation from the character, whereas Edward Furlong's teenage John Conor was just unbearable...sorry Edward.

Bryce Dallas Howard takes on the role of Kate Brewster Conor. Kate who was only introduced in T3 was previously portrayed by Claire Daines who honestly...should just stick to doing Shakespeare. Daines portrayal was weak. She was a whiny unsympathic character. I don't know if that was the way she was supposed to be written or what, but I wasn't intrigued by the character of Kate Brewster. Bryce on the other hand could be a different story. Bryce Dallas Howard who starred opposite Tobey Maquire in Spiderman 3 has a difficult task in front of her. She is left having to improve and revive of boring character who throughout T3 just didn't seem to fit into the story, until just about the end of that film. Bryce will now play a central role as John Conor's wife. Again judging by the clips that I've seen all the wrong done by Daines portrayal may in fact have been remedied.

Anton Yelchin has the daunting task of playing an important role in the Terminator series. For the first time since the original Terminator film Kyle Reese is seen again. Michael Biehn who previously played Kyle played him with true passion, and heart, as the rugged soldier sent through time to ensure the survival of the great John Conor. I for one am particularily excited to see if Yelchin can take the torch from Biehn.

Despite the cast, the story itself seems super solid. With less then a week away before its theater debut, the anticipation of this film is definitely a summer highlight. McG and crew have a huge army to battle, and I'm not talking machines. I'm talking about some huge blockbusters like, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (a review of that will come soon), Star Trek, and Howard's own fathers blockbuster Angels and Demons. I for one will be at the midnight showing of Terminator Salvation, so until then...."I'll be back!"
